![]() ![]() You have no reason to dislike anything about it, apart from maybe the price. Without doubt, this game is the one that will change everything. You feel attached to the game, and lose concentration in the real world, to such an extent that you'll lose track of time, and maybe even be late for work/school/auditions/AA meetings. You get the feeling you're in a war - not a computer game. ![]() I refer not solely to the facial features and the movement and stances of the characters, but also to the incredible backgrounds that da Vinci would have been proud of. The graphics look silky and photo-realistic. A level of realism previously unachieved in any field of entertainment. The bad guys crawl out from anywhere, like six-foot roaches with machine guns. No more wandering around, going, "er.where do I go now?" Nothing but action. By far, the best graphics yet seen on any platform. Stay through the credits for a bonus level. Second, although you do have a key impact on every battle, deaths or survivals of your team members feel staged - which means they won't die unless the plot requires them to. First, the single player campaign, while an excellent gaming experience, is fairly short. A.I is remarkable: although main events are scripted, both your allies and enemies are reasonably flexible. There are also touches of class such as plot twists and playable flashbacks (the mission with Price in Chernobyl is easily one of the best levels I have EVER played in a FPS). You never get that "enough with this damn level!" feeling plaguing many games. The game quickly shows off its qualities: after a brief tutorial we get a great level on a ship, then an amazing credit scene - a steady-cam sequence seen through the eyes of a man dragged through a Middle Eastern city to be executed: a chilling, brilliant moment worthy of Brian De Palma. "You want me, huh?", "So kill me!", "Screw you!", ect).Technically superb, tightly plotted, fast-paced and wonderfully cinematic, Call of Duty 4 is one of the best war first-person shooters ever made. The protagonists will not shout taunts whilst firing suppressed weapons (eg. When equipped, the attachment dampens the firing sound and suppresses the muzzle flash of the weapon, making it able to perform stealth kills, unless there are witnesses that will alarm the police.
